    Jerruh talking about his players

Who's to blame for the Cowboys' devastating loss to the Steelers on Sunday? Dallas owner Jerry Jones points his finger at an unlikely player. From Star-Telegram.com:

Jones believed Marion Barber's dislocated right pinkie toe was an injury that he could have played with against Pittsburgh. Before the team boarded for its flight to Pittsburgh on Saturday, Jones was stunned Barber did not make the trip.

After not practicing all week and with an additional sore calf, Barber felt he couldn't play. Jones said Barber could have taped and braced the toe well enough to allow him to play.

"He can play with that injured toe," Jones said. "He can play with the soreness and a combination of those things. I see nothing that led us to believe he couldn't."

Jones was unsure whether Barber could return against the New York Giants on Sunday. While Jones seemed disappointed with Barber, he was thrilled with rookie Tashard Choice.

Choice, a fourth-round pick from Georgia Tech, made his first career start and had 23 carries for 88 yards against the NFL's top-ranked defense. He also led the team with 78 yards receiving on five catches.

"Tashard might have added a plus," Jones said. "I don't think we lost any slack there."

Didn't Jones ask Nike to make Barber a special pair of cleats so he could play? I think they were sent to Pitt., but Barber never went so he didn't even try them on.

I like Barber alot. He goes to work, does his job without any of the extra baggage so many players bring. He's a hell of a back too. If Choice could tear that steelers' d up, wonder how barber could have done.

But, I think if there was any way Barber could play then he would have. Bad move by Jerruh, whether it is true or not.

Yeah Nike made him a special pair that would protect his toe. They have done that for about ten other players this season as well.

NIke did send the shoe to Pitt, but Barber wasn't there. Dallas training crew tried to create one without any luck during the week.

He atleast should have made the trip out there, who knows it might have helped. He has to play against the Giants, plain and simple. That "saving him for later" stuff is long gone, its a must win for Dallas and he has to play. Jones would be incredibly pissed if they lost and Barber didn't play.

Re: Jerruh talking about his players

Barber should at least try to carry the ball 10-15 times and let Choice spell him on the rest of the carries.

Dallas has a chance to win this game. Jim Johnson's defense showed a weakness in the Gmen's offense. Wade will be able to exploit that IMO.

Re: Jerruh talking about his players

Its just time to pull out all the stops, its a HUGE game for the Boys. With the way Barber plays, this shouldn't be that big of a deal and I expect him to be playing. IMO if the game didn't end up so close or Dallas had won like they should have , Jones wouldn't have said a word about Barber. I know he's win hungry, but so are those players and us fans...stupid when owners, managers etc. make dumb comments about their workhorses, don't piss them off.

With the way the Dallas D has been playing, they should take this one and the remaining two. That Seattle game was as perfect as the O could have played, Romo spread the ball out to EVERYONE. He needs to do that this week, Barber should be back, no wind, should be used to playing without the splint i.e. no excuses.

Re: Jerruh talking about his players

Jerry is great owner to have when it comes to his willingness to spend money, and do anything to try and better the team. Sometimes he makes questionable decisions though, and win or lose against the Steelers I don't like this by him.

Good thing is we get two home games against the Giants and Ravens, so we won't have to battle the elements. The Eagles game isn't a gimme though, they could very much still be in contention at that point. Even if they aren't, they will still play tough and Johnson's defense has been known to give Romo fits.
